Twins

5 m - 18 m

Facile

One of the most popular dive sites here near Koh Nangyuan. It consists of 2 rocks, one in shallow water and the other in intermediate water.
Plenty of underwater life to discover for all levels and a small rock passage at 15m. Come and discover our "Nemo Family" too!

At Twins, you can see :

Clownfish (Nemo), Gobby, Shrimp, Nudibranchs, Barracudas, Porcupine pufferfish, Giant pufferfish, Moray eels.

White Rock

5 m - 22 m

Facile

As one of the largest dive sites on Koh Tao, White Rock boasts an enormous variety of underwater life.
This site consists of two large rock formations with a beautiful coral garden in the center.

Great site to explore, worth visiting more than once.

In White Rock, you can see:

Turtles, Nudibranchs, Angel fish, Butterfly fish, Barracudas, Titan triggerfish, Blue-spotted rays, Grouper

Hin Pee Wee

8 m - 28 m

Intermediate

Small, quiet deep dive site close to the Sattaküt wreck.
A large rock formation and a few small surrounding pinnacles make this an easily explored site full of aquatic life.

In Hin Pee Wee, you can see :

Nudibranchs, Angel fish, Butterfly fish, Barracudas, Titan triggerfish, Blue-spotted rays.

HTMS Sattakut

18 m - 30 m

Intermediate

Magnificent wreck located 10 minutes from Mae Haad.
This Thai warship, deliberately sunk in 2011 to create an artificial reef, was donated by the US Navy at the end of the Second World War.

Wreck in perfect condition, with 2 anti-aircraft guns in the bow and stern.
Highly recommended for history buffs, photographers and divers wishing to take their PADI wreck diving course.

You can see :

Grouper, Barracuda, Fusiliers, Jenkins Stingray.

Junkyard Reef

6 m - 11 m

Facile

The Junkyard reef, created in 2009 by members of Eco Koh Tao, is located 300m from the beach. Junkyard is a very popular alternative dive site on Koh Tao. This artificial reef is made up of & dotted with numerous metal concrete structures which help the coral to grow quietly. You'll find a coral nursery, but also a car, a boat, fitness equipment (weights, bicycles, elliptical bikes...) When you dive at Junkyard, it's easy to understand how long it takes coral to grow.

In Junkyard, you can see :

Skates, Platax, porcupine fish, puffer fish, juvenile harlequin fish, flying scorpion fish & two ever-present "Nemo" families.

Pottery & 3 Rocks

5 m - 12 m

Facile

These 2 dive sites are located just 2 minutes from Mae Haad pier & are an excellent choice for beginners.
The 3 rocks can be seen from the surface, while underwater you'll find several smaller rocks and a small archway to cross.
Pottery is a nearby, slightly deeper site with numerous rock formations.

At Pottery & 3 Rocks, you can see :

Angel fish, Butterfly fish, Titan triggerfish, Blue-spotted rays, Standard-bearer fish, Globe fish

South West Pinnacle

5 m - 30 m

Intermediate

A fantastic deep-sea diving site 10 km from Koh Tao... Highly recommended!
A main pinnacle whose summit is covered with anemones and several surrounding rock formations offering plenty of hiding places for the rays & groupers present in large numbers.
A little further on (5min plating), you can also explore "Secret Pinnacle".

In South West, you can see:

Whale shark, giant grouper, large barracuda, yellowtail barracuda, blue-spotted ray, school of fish.

Sail Rock

1 m - 35 m

Intermediate

Sail Rock is famous for its huge schools of fish, large solitary fish and rich underwater life!
There's also a chimney to the north of the rock from 20m, with an exit at 12m and a second at 6m.

At Sail Rock, you can see :

Whale shark, Giant grouper, Great barracuda, Yellowtail barracuda, Chevron barracuda, Carangue, Cobia, Queenfish, Platax, Fusiliers.

Shark Island

4 m - 25 m

Intermediate

Lots of large boulders and rock formations for a different kind of exploration from the other sites around Koh Tao.
Sometimes the current can be strong!

On Shark Island, you can see :

Crevettes, Grand barracuda, Baliste Titan, Barracuda à queue jaune, raie à points bleus, Platax.

Aow Leuk

4 m - 18 m

Facile

Shallow & very pleasant dive site, ideal for training dives or "refresh".
Quiet dive site with lots of fish and underwater life.

In Aow Leuk, you can see :

Harlequin fish, Barracuda, Yellow trunk fish, Blue spotted ray.

Tanote Bay

5 m - 16 m

Facile

A beautiful bay on the east coast of Tao.
Ideal place for new divers to practice and develop their skills.

In Tanote Bay, you can see :

Humpback parrotfish, Corals, Angelfish, Parrotfish, Grouper, Turtle.

Laem Thian

5 m - 16 m

Intermediate

Located on the east coast, Laem Thian is an exciting dive site for its architecture.
The many huge rocks along the coast offer numerous passages and caves.

Perfect for buoyancy training.

In Laem Thian, you can see :

Angel Fish, Parrot Fish, Standard Bearer Fish, Platax, Fusiliers, Yellow Trunk Fish.

Chumphon Pinnacle

12 m - 35 m

Intermediate

Generally considered the best dive site on Koh Tao. Highly recommended! The main rock starts at 35 m and rises to 14 m, while to the south-west of it, the "Barracuda rock" starts at 30 m and rises to 12 m.

You can find a small passage under an arch about 20 m below the middle mooring line. Let yourself be carried away by the magic of this dive site.

At Chumphon Pinnacle, you can see :

Whale shark, giant grouper, barracudas, moray eels, clown fish, chevron barracudas, Platax, schools of fusiliers, lion fish, schools of jacks.

Green Rock

2 m - 30 m

Intermediate

Numerous large boulders have created passages and small caves for an exciting diving experience.

In Green Rock, you can see:

triggerfish titan, yellow triggerfish, nudibranchs, barracudas, morays, platax triggerfish titan, yellow triggerfish, nudibranchs, barracudas, morays, platax

Japanese Garden

1 m - 14 m

Facile

This shallow dive site is perfect for beginners and for discovering scuba diving.

A magnificent coral garden filled with multicolored fish located opposite Twins on the other side of the sandbar.

A short passage under rocks to the S-E of this dive site.

In the Japanese Garden, you can see :

Corals, nudibranchs, barracudas, moray eels, parrotfish, porcupine pufferfish, giant pufferfish, clownfish, cave.

Red Rock

5 m - 20 m

Intermediate

This dive site offers excellent exploration with a return to the Japanese garden site.

A very calm dive with a long and beautiful passage under large rocks.

In Red Rock, you can see:

Titan triggerfish, nudibranchs, barracudas, moray eels, parrotfish, blue-spotted rays, sea snake.

Lighthouse Bay

5 m - 18 m

Facile

Located to the N-E of Koh Tao, just below the island's only lighthouse!

You can choose to stay in the bay for the shallow water with a multitude of corals, or decide to explore the slightly deeper rocks at the northern tip of the site.

In Lighthouse Bay, you can see :

Corals, Butterfly fish, Standard bearer, Blue spotted ray

Mango Bay

2 m - 18 m

Facile

Located in the north of the island, you can choose to dive in shallow water (near the beach) for a first dive or a reprise dive.
But you can also explore this dive site with a drop-off from the north or south of the bay... the choice is yours!

In Mango Bay, you can see :

Corals, Giant groupers, Barracudas, Moray eels, Rockfish, Sea snakes, Parrot fish.

Hin Wong Pinnacle

A very pretty little pinnacle just off Hin Wong bay, where the current can be strong at times.

Ideal for deep diving courses, it is also recommended for exploration dives.

At Hin Wong Pinnacle, you can see :

Hard corals, Soft corals, Gorgonian, Giant grouper, Titan triggerfish, Turtle, Razor fish.
